  • A packet of Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 bag of Frozen Hash Browns
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
  • pepper, to taste

How to make a breakfast casserole for Mother’s Day:

  1. First, preheat the oven to 375°.
  2. Next, in a skillet, cook the sausage until browned. Be sure to crumble the sausage as you cook it.
  3. Pour the boiled sausage into a mixing bowl.
  4. Then remove the remaining sausage fat, except for 1 tablespoon.
  5. Add the onions and red pepper and cook until tender.
  6. Next add the garlic and sauté for another minute.
  7. Remove this mixture and add the sausage.
  8. Place the hash browns and 1 1/2 cups of cheese in the mixing bowl. Combine.
  9. Then, in a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and black pepper until well combined.
  10. Pour the egg mixture into the sausage mixture and mix
  11. Pour this mixture into a 11×7 inch casserole dish.
  12. Then sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
  13. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and cook for another 10 minutes.
  14. Take out, let cool and then serve.
