Step by step instructions on how to fold an origami shark bookmark

Origami Shark Bookmark Steps to fold the origami shark and add embellishments - steps shown are 1-9 starting with a flat piece of 6x6 paper and ending with a ready folded origami shark bookmark
Here are pictures of the step-by-step folding instructions for making an origami shark!

Step 1

In the first step, choose the color of the shark you want to make. For the perfect shark color, I chose a light blue.

step 2

Turn your square origami paper diagonally and fold it so that each corner touches, making a large triangle (see image from step 2).

step 3

Take the two pointy sizes and fold them together to form another smaller triangle (see image).

step 4

Open the two sides you just folded, take the top piece of paper and fold it down until it touches the bottom point. (see step 4)

step 5

Take the two sides and fold them into the pocket you created in step 4 (see step 5).

step 6

Turn all the paper over and you have your basic shape ready.

step 7

It’s time to decorate! First, start by cutting out shark teeth using your scissors and white cardstock.

step 8

Then cut out a triangle for the mouth from another sheet of origami paper. I used a light pink for the inside of the shark’s mouth.

step 9

Glue the teeth to the inside of your face. This is also the time to glue on your googly eyes and mouthpiece.

step 10

Now all you have to do is cut out some triangles for the fins and don’t forget the dorsal fin! Glue these on and you’re done Origami Shark Bookmarks!
