Ingredients for Lentil Meatballs Recipe

  • 2 glasses of red lentils
  • 1.5 glasses of fine bulgur
  • 3 onions
  • 3 coffee cups of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of hot pepper paste
  • 1 tablespoon of pomegranate syrup
  • 5~6 fresh onions
  • Half bunch of dill
  • Half a bunch of fresh mint
  • Half a bunch of parsley
  • salt
  • black pepper

  • Leaf lettuce
  • 1 lemon

How to Make Lentil Meatballs

  • < li>Sort and wash the lentils. Take a large pot and add enough water to cover it by two fingers.
  • Boil the lentils until their water is gone. Take it from the stove and spread the bulgur to cover the lentils.
  • Cover the lid of the pot and leave it at room temperature for half an hour to allow the bulgur to swell enough.
  • Clean and chop the spring onions, parsley, mint and dill and deep fry. Mix in a bowl.
  • Peel and grate the onions. Heat the olive oil in a deep pan and fry the onions. Add the tomato paste and fry for a few more minutes.
  • Add salt and spices and remove from the stove. Add the roasted onion and pomegranate syrup to the lentil mixture. Finally, add the greenery mixture and knead again.
  • Create a small egg-sized piece from the meatball dough and gently squeeze it in your hand to give it the shape of meatballs. Take the lettuce on a serving plate. Place the lentil meatballs you prepared on them. You can drizzle lemon juice if you wish.
  • You can serve the original lentil meatballs with olive oil stuffed leaves or Russian salad. Bon appetit in advance.

  • You can add spices such as rosemary and thyme to flavor the lentils while they are being boiled.< li>To prevent the bulgur from remaining raw, mix the lentils before they completely absorb their water.

  • Pour the tomato paste sauce over the lentils while they are hot. This way, it will be blended better.
  • Continue kneading until it reaches a thick consistency so that the ingredients are mixed with each other.
