What is a dump cake?

As previously mentioned, a dump cake is similar to a cobbler. It’s an American dessert that uses a cake mix as a topping, usually covered with chunks of butter or melted butter. It is layered together in a casserole dish without mixing. As the name suggests, you basically “pour” the ingredients into a casserole dish and then bake them. There are so many different types of dump cake you can make, including a blueberry dump cake, a pineapple dump cake, or seasonal flavors like this pumpkin dump cake.
