Ingredients for the Romantic Cake Recipe

For the cinnamon, ginger and orange cake

  • 250 g flour
  • 115 g unsalted butter (at room temperature)
  • 1 egg (at room temperature)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup molasses
  • 3/4 cup hot water
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon orange peel powder (Or orange zest)
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For homemade whipped cream

  • 2 egg whites< /li>
  • 3 tablespoons of water
  • 6 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of powdered vanilla / vanillin (Optional)
  • 1.5-2 tablespoons of cocoa (For those who like cocoa)

For the topping

  • Powdered sugar (Sifted)


Cocoa particlesFresh rose or organic cotton rose, bridal flowers (Optional)Heart cookies (Optional)

How to Make a Romantic Cake?

  • Take the flour, baking soda, salt and spices in a bowl and mix them.
  • Take the molasses into another bowl and thin it with hot water.
  • To prepare the whipped cream, mix the egg whites and salt in a bowl. Beat with a mixer at medium speed for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Meanwhile, boil granulated sugar and water in a coffee pot until the sugar dissolves. Turn the mixer to high speed and pour the sugar water in the coffee pot like a rope.
  • Add the vanilla while the mixer is running. Take half of the mixture in another container and add cocoa to the construction site with cocoa.
  • When the whipped cream reaches the desired hardness, transfer it to clean containers and leave to cool in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  • Whisk the brown sugar, orange peel powder/grater and butter in a deep bowl until it reaches a creamy consistency. Add the egg and continue beating. (You can whisk by hand or in a mixer.) Add half of the flour-dry mixture and the thinned molasses and continue whisking.
  • Finally, add the other half of the dry mixture and continue whisking until you get a fluid and homogeneous mixture.

  • Transfer the cake mix to a greased 20 or 22 cm mold and bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for 35-40 minutes. After checking the baking setting with the toothpick test, take it out of the oven.
  • When the cake comes to room temperature, spread the whipped cream around the cake by plastering, and spread the cocoa whipped cream on it. After sprinkling powdered sugar and cocoa pieces, decorate the cake as you wish.
