This beverage, which is a popular beverage of the winter months, is obtained from a plant that grows in regions such as Safranbolu, Taşköprü, Mola, Kastamonu and Isparta. This plant has three liplets, and salep is obtained by grinding its tubers. There are various types of making salebi, it can be bought ready-made and mixed with water or milk according to the instructions on it. Or you can do it yourself at home, we will present you today in all 3 forms. First we start with our Recipe that you can make at home. By the way, I recommend you to try it with the crying cake.

Salep, which is a warming flavor in winter days, also has a high vitamin value. This recipe, which is a method that can be used to make children drink milk, becomes more nutritious thanks to the consistency and smell it gives to milk, as well as its cinnamon presentation.

Materials

1 liter can of milk

1 teaspoon of powdered salep

1 teaspoon of granulated sugar

Cinnamon powder

How to Make Salep

First we mix our dry ingredients. There is no order in these powder materials, you can mix all powder materials. We lightly roast the ingredients we take in the pot.

(The reason we roast it is to get the light smell of rice flour). Then, with the help of a whisk, let’s add our milk little by little and reduce the bottom a little.

There is no harm if the sugar turns brown slightly at the bottom while mixing. It will also give a nice color to salep. After mixing well, it will be enough to keep it on low heat for 1-2 minutes. If you want, you can get a more pleasant taste if you mix it with a stick of cinnamon. (Optional)

When it is a little more runny than boza, it is ready to drink.

Necessary Ingredients

1 liter of cold milk
1 tea spoon of salep can be found in herbalists
1 teaspoon of starch
1 packet of vanilla
A little cinnamon
A little granulated sugar

Salep

1 teaspoon of salep and 1 teaspoon of starch are mixed together with sugar as desired in a bowl. It is crushed with the help of warm milk to give a thick consistency. 1 liter of milk is boiled on the stove. This mixture is slowly added to the boiling milk in a way that prevents it from clumping. And the mixing continues. The desired sugar ratio can be adjusted according to the taste. And after it is boiled on the stove until the consistency is full, it is removed from the stove and added in vanilla before it cools down. If it’s too much, it can be reheated and served in a mug or cup. Sprinkling cinnamon on it is necessary as it will give it a taste.
