Ingredients for Sarma Beyti Recipe

  • 1 piece of phyllo
  • 1 onion
  • 1 glass of breadcrumbs
  • 200 g ground beef
  • 200 g ground lamb
  • 30 g peanuts
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of butter

How to Make Wrapped Bayti?

  • First fold the phyllo in half, then fold it once more and cut the phyllo in a circle as big as the bottom of the tray where you will make the Beyti.
  • The phyllo will become four layers and grease the spaces between each one with butter. Place on the baking tray and divide into 12 pieces.
  • Prepare the Beyti meatballs by adding ground beef, grated onion, egg white, breadcrumbs, salt and other spices in a bowl.
  • Add the pistachio to it. Knead all the ingredients well, give them a circular shape and roll them into phyllo.
  • Apply egg yolk on the phyllo and bake in the oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes.
